HOW DRONE DETECTION TECHNOLOGY SUPPORTED THE SAFE ORCHESTRATION OF HIGH PROFILE DRONE LIGHT SHOW.
For the first time in Australia, a drone light show company has used the innovative and advanced technologies supplied by Department 13 to ensure airspace safety around this event. Scout was used to monitor the surrounding airspace for rogue drone users during Skyshows’ production of ‘FLIGHT: Drone Light Show’ over the Australia Day weekend 25-27 January 2024.
The deployment of Department 13’s capabilities to the event provided
real-time situational awareness to the commercial drone operator
(Skyshows), event organisers (NCA) and local law enforcement ensuring
that a safe and secure event for the public in attendance.
Through the application of our early warning technology, hazardous and
careless drone operators did not impact the shows performance.
