Department 13 Counter Drone Program “MESMER” a 2016 UAS Challenge Finalist

WHO WE ARE

Department 13 is a technology company with vast experience in solving advanced national security problems.  85% of Department 13 staff are PhD level software engineers and radio frequency communications experts focused on building the most capable drone defense solution available to government and commercial customers alike.

WHAT WE DO

Department 13’s fully integrated software approach to drone defense includes detection, alerting and mitigation built on unified platform deployable as a stand-alone system or as a component to a more complex security system.   We call this system Mesmer.

MESMER ADVANTAGES -- POSITIVE CONTROL AND A SYSTEM THAT LEARNS

Department 13 counter drone technology is a solution built to control the outcome of drone incursions and hostile acts.   At the core of Mesmer, are sophisticated methods to acquire positive control of the drone enabling a controlled landing.  Many approaches to drone defense are built upon principles of outdated electronic warfare and weaponry.  Jamming, while very functional, can potentially do the job of those using drones to deliver hostile payload.  A drone that is jammed will crash to the ground with potentially disastrous outcomes.  Mesmer always acquires and maintains positive control of the drone that enables positive outcomes.

BUSINESS MODEL

Department 13 will market Mesmer directly to commercial and government customers while leveraging partnerships with system integrators and security consultants. Annual license fees and implementation service fees will create ongoing revenue streams.
